In our first unit of Writer’s Workshop, Kindergarten students learned about different types of writing. Students were able to write notes to their family members, sketch and label a map, and create a title and cover for their published work. In addition, students planned and shared ideas with partners to get inspiration for their own writing. As an acknowledgement of their hard work, each Kindergarten class had a celebration with their published writing pieces where students took pride in their writing and chanted “We are writers!”
