An alphabet parade is a popular educational celebration that our kindergarteners participated in. Our kindergarten Lions dressed up or carried items representing a specific letter of the alphabet. It serves as a “grand finale” or a celebratory milestone after students have finished learning all 26 letters of the alphabet.
How It Usually Works
Letter Assignments: Each student is assigned a specific letter (e.g., “A” or “M”).
Costumes & Props: Students create a vest, hat, or poster featuring their letter. They often dress as something starting with that letter—for example, a student assigned “P” might dress as a pirate, a penguin, or carry a pineapple.
The Procession: The class marches through the school hallways or around the playground, often to music, showing off their letters to other students, teachers, and parents (virtually).
