Robotics at Blairstown

On Sunday, January 22, PCSST’s Mecha Lions went all the way up to Blairstown, to compete in their second scrimmage of the season at Blair Academy.

Mecha Lions lost a few members along the way, but Isaac DeDios, Ashly Guillen, Emir Talas, and Aiden Perez were still in it to win it. The Lions were prepared to do better this time, with four functional motors instead of two, 3D printed parts to replace their cardboard pieces, and committed members.

Unfortunately, the odds were not in their favor, and one by one, the team experienced setbacks in their robot, from the arm and claw breaking, and then a motor malfunctioning. Even with low spirits, the team managed to persevere, getting a spare motor from another team, and still competing with a functional robot. At the end of the day, Mecha Lions won in 4 out of 5 of their alliances, bagging a total of 454 points.

We commend the team for their tenacity, and wish them good luck for the regional finals on February 11.
