We started our day at the Great Falls – the same powerful waterfall that inspired Alexander Hamilton to establish Paterson as America’s first planned industrial city. Standing beside those roaring waters, our students got a real sense of how this natural wonder powered the mills and factories that helped put Paterson on the map.
After the Falls, we made our way to the Paterson Museum, where students saw firsthand how our city helped shape American industry. They learned about the early textile mills that powered the Industrial Revolution, the groundbreaking aircraft engines built here in the 20th century, and the creative, hard-working people who made it all possible. It was a chance to understand the struggles and successes of the workers and immigrants who built the diverse, resilient community we call home.
This trip was about more than just learning – it was about building pride in our city’s past. We’re so glad our students got to experience it!
