PCSST Celebrates the Opening of The Lion’s HUB with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
On March 23, 2026, Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST) proudly celebrated the grand opening of The Lion’s HUB, a school-based behavioral health center, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This exciting initiative is made possible through a partnership with Care Plus NJ, a leading nonprofit provider of integrated behavioral health, substance use disorder, and primary care services across northern New Jersey, and one of the state’s first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC). Through this collaboration, PCSST is expanding access to vital behavioral health services for its students and families.
The ceremony welcomed a distinguished group of attendees, including Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh, and Passaic County Superintendent Kesha Drakeford. They joined school leaders, Care Plus NJ representatives, students, families, and community partners to celebrate this important milestone for the PCSST community.
The Lion’s HUB is designed to reduce barriers to care by providing comprehensive, on-campus support while connecting students and families to Care Plus NJ’s full continuum of services. Through this model, individuals can access therapy, care coordination, crisis response, and family support, with seamless referrals to additional services when needed.
Serving students in grades K–12, The Lion’s HUB aims to integrate wellness into everyday school life while making it easier for students and families to receive support. Services are voluntary, confidential, and available regardless of insurance or ability to pay. All care is provided by licensed Care Plus NJ clinicians.
To better support families, The Lion’s HUB will be open during and after school hours, including evening sessions. The program serves PCSST students, their families or legal guardians, and school staff, with parent or guardian consent required for student participation.
For more information about The Lion’s HUB or to inquire about services, families are encouraged to contact the PCSST School Counseling Office.
This partnership reflects PCSST’s ongoing commitment to supporting the academic success, well-being, and overall development of every student.
