4th Grade Trip to the Statue of Liberty

Today our scholars had the wonderful opportunity of exploring Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. This was a memorable trip because the students were able to learn about how immigrants were processed and how the Statue of Liberty was a sign of hope for many immigrants as they passed through Ellis Island. Many students don’t get the opportunity to see the Statue in person but our young scholars were very thrilled to be so close to a small piece of history that they’ve only read about in textbooks. For many students, this was also their first time riding on a ferry. The experience was very exciting for them.
