Due to the recent cases of the coronavirus becoming more widespread throughout the state of New Jersey, as well as the surrounding areas, Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST) is taking the proper precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The intent of this letter is to provide parents with specific information about the district’s ongoing efforts in addressing this matter. Unfortunately, we will remain closed beyond April 1st.
As a result of the physical building being closed, classes will continue with Instructional Packets and online using the Class Dojo apps for all K-1 students. The new packets are for Weeks 3-5 are for March 30-April 2nd, April 6th -9th, and April 20th - 24th. It is mandatory that all parents login to Class Dojo between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm where you will find the Morning Meetings from your child’s teacher. This MUST be done daily as it will count towards your child’s attendance. The videos posted to Class Dojo must be watched in its entirety. If you have any questions in regards to the work your child is being provided, teachers are available every weekday from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM for questions. Please feel free to message them. In addition, packets that students receive must be completed fully as this will serve as graded work.
In the event you need to reach the K-1 campus admin, or secretary, you can call the 7-12 campus. Ms. Scott and Mrs. Santos will be stationed there. PLEASE NOTE that the 7-12 Campus is now only open Mondays and Thursdays, between 9:45 am-1:45 pm and will answer any concerns that may arise. The number to the 7-12 Campus is 973-247-0600. The 7-12 Campus will continue to serve breakfast and lunch on Mondays and Thursdays to our students between the hours of 10 am – 1 pm. If students are unable to make it to that campus, a list of other available food sites are attached to the letter.
Together, as a partnership between parents and educators, we will successfully navigate this matter. More information will be shared with parents as we proceed in the days to come. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience. Please continue to practice all necessary prevention from spreading this virus.
