SUMMER READING 2019-20

All PCSST students must complete summer reading assignments for the 2019-20 school year. 
 
The summer assignment project will commence in a book fair on Friday, September 6th, 2019 during school. All projects must be submitted by Friday, September 6th for judging and grading.
Students must choose their own book and skill to complete their project. The following are suggested reading titles, but students may choose any book at a similar level that they did not read in school.

ELA MISSION STATEMENT
 
The English Language Arts Program at PCSST emphasizes the NJ State literacy standards of reading literature, reading informational texts, writing, speaking and listening and language. Simultaneously, students are prepared for a 21st-century world and regularly use technology to enhance their understanding of reading and writing. A continuous emphasis is placed on preparation for the critically important PARCC Assessments, as well as, the SAT and ACT exams.  Preparation for these assessments is embedded into each standards-based curriculum. The PCSST English Language Arts Program also offers honors and AP courses, in addition to various electives based on students' interests and abilities.
