Seton Hall Color Gaurd 2025

On March 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., PCSST JROTC Color Guard had the honor of
attending an inspiring ceremony at Seton Hall University, to present the colors. The
event, which celebrated the remarkable achievements of Lieutenant Colonel Marisol A.
Chalas, featured a beautiful performance by a Latin band that played the national
anthem, blending it with lively salsa music. The fusion of these sounds created a truly
unforgettable atmosphere, adding a special touch to the ceremony.
During the event, we had the privilege of meeting Colonel Chalas, who shared her
incredible journey with us. Born in Bani, Dominican Republic, and currently residing in
Boston, she spoke passionately about defying the odds to break barriers in a field
where women, especially Latinas, were almost unheard of.
Lieutenant Colonel Chalas made history as the first Latina National Guard Black Hawk
pilot, a monumental achievement that continues to inspire many. Her story of
perseverance, determination, and resilience serves as a powerful reminder of the
importance of challenging boundaries and pursuing one’s dreams, no matter the
obstacles.
