Robotics

After about ten years of hiatus, PCSST relaunched its robotics team this year, and on December 11 2022, the students participated in their first tournament at River Dell Highschool in Oradell. Representing PCSST were the “Mecha Lions”, including Aiden Perez, Ashly Guillen, Isaac DeDios, Emir Talaş, Landon Rankine, Ezequiel Barquero, and Adhm Alateiat.

Since it was their first time competing, the team learnt a lot during the tournament, including different regulations for the robot and code, as well as how to compete together and against other teams. Our Mecha Lions were also some of the youngest competitors there, but they still did really well. During the tournament, Emir was the robot’s primary driver, assisted by Isaac, Landon, and Adhm. Ashly also did an impressive job as the ‘human player’, assisted by Aiden.

We thank all the parents who supported our team by allowing the students to join the weekly meetings and the tournament, especially Ms. Carlin, who also joined us on our trip. We look forward to improving our robot and doing better in the next round in January.
