Social emotional learning is a key component to developing the whole child! This summer SEL classes consisted of Monday mindfulness activities such as yoga, listening to music, and practicing how to focus on one single task. Tuesdays we incorporated character building techniques such as being accountable, honest, and trustworthy. On Wednesdays the students got to be creative! They made self-images, social media profiles, and even made sensory bags to help them de-stress. On Thursdays SEL classes focused on relationships. The students engaged in activities that help them build relationships with themselves, their parents, friends, and teachers! Lastly, every Friday the students had the opportunity to journal about their weekly endeavors! The students tracked their weekly mood with coloring charts and got to answer questions to further their understanding about themselves and their goals!
What an eventful summer!!
